Why is my bet on sportsbook returned?
A bet is returned when it is declared void, meaning your stake is refunded to your account. You neither lose money nor win any. Bets may be voided for several reasons, often due to circumstances beyond the sportsbook’s control. Common reasons include:
Event postponement, cancellation, or abandonment: If the event you bet on is delayed or canceled, your bet will likely be voided.
Changes of venue: If the location of the event changes significantly, bets may be voided.
Additionally, your bet may be voided due to obvious errors:
If the odds or terms of the bet are significantly different from the general market or clearly incorrect given the event’s probability, the bet will be void.
If an error occurs in an in-play/live market, making the odds or terms invalid, the bet will be void.
Pre-event markets: If an error in odds or terms is detected before the event starts, the bet will also be void.
While WinZir strives to notify clients of any errors before the event begins, this may not always be possible. Errors caused by data providers, such as incorrect team names or participants, can also result in bets being voided if the mistake significantly affects the market (e.g., confusing two different teams like Bristol Rovers and Bristol City).
