What is a Chain Bet and How Do I Place Multiple Selections from the Same Event within a Chain Bet?

A chain bet is a type of multiple bet where several selections on different events are linked in such a way that the success of each subsequent selection depends on the outcome of the previous one. Each selection forms part of a "chain," where the winnings from a successful bet are automatically used to place the next bet in the sequence.

How a Chain Bet Works:
Choose at least two events: The bet is placed on multiple events, but each event is dependent on the result of the previous one.

Successive betting: If the first selection wins, the stake and winnings from that event are placed on the next selection. This continues for all events in the chain.

Bet continues if the selection wins: If all your selections are successful, your winnings are based on the cumulative odds of each selection in the chain. However, if one selection loses, the entire bet is lost.

Example:
Let’s say you choose three football matches for your chain bet:

Match A: Team X to win
Match B: Team Q to win
Match C: Team M to win
If Team X wins in Match A, the stake and winnings from Match A are automatically placed on Team Q in Match B. If Team Q wins, the combined winnings from Match A and Match B are placed on Team M in Match C.

Key Points:
Higher potential returns: Chain bets offer the possibility of multiplying your winnings, as the winnings from each event are placed on the next.
Higher risk: If any selection loses, the entire bet is lost, making chain bets riskier than standard multiple bets.
Placing Multiple Selections from the Same Event:
In most cases, chain bets require selections from different events. However, if the sportsbook allows it, you can place multiple selections from the same event, such as betting on different outcomes within the same match. Always check with the specific sportsbook for their rules on chain bets.

Chain bets can offer big rewards but come with higher risk due to the cumulative nature of the selections. Make sure to fully understand the rules before placing a chain bet.
